Feedback Submissions Workflow

What is it? You can now create workflows that trigger off feedback submissions.

Why does it matter? With Feedback Submissions based workflows, you can automate your follow up actions based on customer rating, sentiment, response to a specific question etc. in a feedback survey.

How does it work? You can enrol records and trigger feedback submission based workflows based on a feedback submission property or contact property or ticket property.

Copy data from workflow actions

What is it? You can access more data from workflows and copy that data to set property values, unlocking more customisation and personalisation.

Why is it important? Previously, you could copy property values between objects, like, for example, between a contact and a deal. Now, you can also copy action data from actions to properties, allowing you to use workflows to power more customised and personalised customer journeys.

You will be able to access more details about the event in workflows using the copy property action, like the unique join link for each attendee. You can grab that URL and use the copy property action to save it in a custom contact property, so that it auto-populates a unique link within the registration confirmation email to each contact.

How does it work? In the Copy Property action, open the "Property or value to copy from" dropdown. In addition to the properties of the enrolled object, you'll now see any other workflow actions that produce data, and the available data from that action, which you can copy. Select the property or action data you care about, and save the action as you usually do.



 

Send SurveyMonkey Surveys from the HubSpot CRM

What is it? You can now send your SurveyMonkey surveys directly from within the HubSpot CRM.

We have updated our integration with SurveyMonkey to allow you to have more sending options from within the HubSpot platform. You no longer need to go back to the SurveyMonkey platform to send your surveys, you can do this directly from within HubSpot via contact records.

Why does it matter? As a marketer, you use SurveyMonkey to send surveys to gather important information about your customers, as well as new leads. Switching between the SurveyMonkey platform, where your surveys are hosted, and the HubSpot platform, where your contacts are hosted, can be time-consuming.

The HubSpot SurveyMonkey integration allows you to seamlessly utilize the information within the HubSpot CRM and SurveyMonkey in the most efficient way to achieve your survey sending goals.

How does it work? Now you can easily send your surveys from within the HubSpot CRM - no more back and forth between HubSpot and SurveyMonkey to send out your surveys to your HubSpot contacts.

You can also see the status of your sent survey directly on your contact records in HubSpot so you know what contacts have responded to your surveys.

"Skip if Known" Support on Import

What is it? A new option in Imports to skip updating a property on a record if HubSpot already has a value for it.

Why is it important? You use the import tool to add CRM data constantly -- HubSpot sees over 15,000 imports a day. In some of those cases, the data being imported may be outdated compared to what's already in HubSpot. For example, imagine your Operations team looking to get an internal system and HubSpot in sync -- some properties may already be known and up-to-date in HubSpot, but others may not.

Rather than needing to painstakingly review the information, or winging it and hoping the overwrites aren't too problematic, here's a new and improved option: skip overwriting if a value already exists.

This change matters because having quality data you can rely on in your CRM is the number one job of a CRM in the first place. Being able to rely on HubSpot as a platform of record means the data there is reliable, and you can create processes to add to it consistently, without fear of overwriting and/or losing the most up-to-date version.

How does it work? During the property mapping step of the import flow, you can check a box labeled "Don't override existing value", and if HubSpot has a value for a property on a particular record, that property value won't be updated by the import. That's it!

New properties for Marketing Campaigns

What is it? Record critical pieces of campaign information with a whole host of new properties for the Campaigns tool including:

Campaign Owner
Start date
End date
Campaign Goal
Audience

How does it work? You will now have the ability (when creating a campaign, or editing existing campaigns) to set a value for campaign owner, start date, end date, goal, audience, along with the pre-existing properties of budget, campaign name, colour, and notes.

When working inside a campaign, you will then see these properties right up top so the whole team can stay aligned on these important points:

Not only that, but you can also use this data in other places in-app. With the recent addition of campaigns data inside of the custom report builder these properties are also available as fields to filter/report on. You can group campaigns by create date, see which campaigns are performing the best grouped by owner, and more.

 


 

Associate your Ads with your Marketing Campaigns

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise

What is it? An update that makes it possible to associate your Ads with marketing campaigns inside HubSpot.

How does it work? Click into a Campaign and select "Add assets" in the top-right and find a new category, "Ad Campaigns". From here you'll see you Google, Facebook and LinkedIn ad campaigns and be able to associate them with that marketing campaign:

This both consolidates the the ads under a new group in the "Performance" tab of the campaign, and provides an overview of the ad performance.

Note: Today the "Influenced Contacts" number does not reflect interactions on Ads. We are working on an upgrade to the Influenced Contacts report that will make it possible to customise this number further, and bring in ad data, and more.

 


 

SEO audit tool now checks all three Google Core Web Vitals metrics

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise

What is it? With this enhancement, the SEO audit tool can now flag pages that have an unsatisfactory score for any of the three Google Core Web Vitals metrics (measures of page experience that are soon going to be incorporated into Google's page ranking algorithm):

1. Largest Contentful Paint
2. Cumulative Layout Shift
3. First Input Delay (Total Blocking Time is a suitable alternate measurement)

With HubSpot's SEO tool, you no longer need to use tools like PageSpeed Insights to check these three metrics for each page of your website individually. Our tool, which uses Google Lighthouse behind the scenes, will automatically scan all pages that make up the site and flag pages that fail any of these metrics.

How does it work? The SEO audit tool works for websites hosted on HubSpot as well as websites hosted on external platforms.

To access the SEO audit tool and scan a new website or rescan an existing website:

Go to Marketing > Planning and Strategy > SEO > Recommendations
To rescan an existing website, click the "Rescan now" button next to the website you want to rescan
To scan a new website, click the "Scan new URL" button and enter the URL of the website homepage.

 


 

Manage default notifications for your account

HubSpot Package: Enterprise
Date: May 2021

What is it? Super Admins can now set up default account notifications for users in their portal as well as set up notification profiles by role.

Why is it important? HubSpot users should receive relevant notifications that help them do their best work.
Previously, Super Admins of Enterprise accounts could not implement notification defaults on the global settings or overwrite user settings in bulk for users in their portal. This led to some users not receiving the right notifications from HubSpot.

How does it work? You can set notifications account defaults by going to Settings > Account Defaults > User Defaults. From there, you can:
- Create general default account notifications for all users in your account that aren’t included in a role
- Create specific notification profiles customized to the specific roles you have created in your portal and these will be applied to any user under this role. Please note: The notifications profile will be applied to all users under the selected role.

Once you apply the profile, existing users will be notified about the changes you made. To do this, you can:
- Click on “Create notification profile”
- Select in the dropdown the role for which you’re creating this notification profile
- Name the profile
- Turn on or off the specific channels on which you want users under this role to receive their notifications by switching the toggles accordingly
- Next, to turn on a notification, expand the notification topics and select the notification checkbox. To clear all notifications, select Clear all preferences
- Once you’re done, click on “Save” and click “Apply notification profile” on the next step.
Your profile will appear as “active” on the profiles table.


Please note: Users can still change their notification preferences at any time. User changes will override the defaults you create here.

 


 

Score Property Usability Updates

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise
Date: May 2021

What is it? A set of improvements to the score property experience that will leave you saying "ah, so that's how this is supposed to work."

Score properties are indispensable for operating efficiently. They can be used for spotting a great prospect quickly, getting a sense of the account's health at a glance, and more.

How does it work? When you create a new score property, you will be greeted by new in-context help, along with new empty states to prompt your next action.

Deal Priority

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise
Date: May 2021

What is it? You can now set the level of attention needed on a deal with the new default deal priority property. This property will appear on deal board cards -- just like it does for ticket board cards.

How does it work? The priority property will appear in the "about this deal" section of the record sidebar. If you do not see it, this means you customised the record sidebar. You can customise the sidebar again to have the property appear or simply set the property in all properties.



 

New "simple" workflows branch

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise
Date: May 2021

What is it? You can now branch on the outcome of a previous workflow action to customise automated journeys and easily build complex automations with multiple unique paths.

Why does it matter? For example, let's say you created a task in your workflow to generate a contract every time a deal goes into the "quote" stage. Now, you can use a simple branch to send an email to the customer the moment the task to generate a contract is completed. If the contract wasn't generated within 2 days, you can set your workflow to send an urgent reminder to the rep.

How does it work? In the workflow action panel, look for the new "Branches" section, and find "Simple Branch." Select the property or action you care about, and build your branch in just a couple clicks.



 

Forecasting for Service Hub

HubSpot Package: Pro/Enterprise
Date: April 2021

What is it? Sales teams aren't the only teams that use Deals in HubSpot. Customer Service organisations also use them for things like renewals or upgrades. That also means they want to be able to Forecast those renewal and upgrade deals, often using their own separate pipeline. Now, with Forecasting available for Service seats too, they can.



 

Salesforce one-way custom object sync

HubSpot Package: Enterprise
Date:  April 2021

What is it? You can now sync custom objects from Salesforce into HubSpot. With this new Salesforce integration feature, you can seamlessly set up a new custom object sync and start pulling records into HubSpot. With every custom object sync, you will also have sync features out of the box: sync settings, customisable field mappings, and sync health.

Why does it matter? We know you need more data types than just contacts, companies, and deals. These other data types might not be created in HubSpot, but that insight is important to help power your marketing, sales, and service efforts. Now, with no technical work required, you can add up to 10 custom objects to sync from Salesforce into HubSpot.

How does it work? For enterprise-only customers, when you go to the Salesforce integration setting screen you will now see a new option to "Sync custom object" next to the "Activities" tab.

Once you select "Sync custom object" you will be told how many custom object syncs you have set up and then be taken to the object setup wizard. From here, you will map the Salesforce custom object to the HubSpot custom object - note that the HubSpot custom object needs to be set up prior to going through the object flow.

Next, you will review settings for the object and go to the associations options. 

You do not need to sync associations, but if you want to do so you will need to select the field from Salesforce for HubSpot to use. The association screen will pull the associations based on what you have set up in your Salesforce instance - this is not from HubSpot. Next, you will need to select a field from Salesforce that should be mapped to the required field on the custom object in HubSpot.

Next, you will review your field mappings. 

Lastly, you can review what you have set up for the new custom object sync and turn on your sync or save your settings. Once the sync is turned on you will only see new records come into HubSpot as they are created or updated.

What is it? The SEO audit tool can now check both HubSpot-hosted and external websites for 7 new issues across several categories. Altogether, we can check any website for 35 different issues that affect its performance, mobile experience, ability to get crawled and indexed, user experience, security, on-page SEO, and accessibility.

Why does it matter? These new recommendations will make it easier for you to build and maintain a website that adhere to best web practices and provides a good experience to your visitors.

They're also a key part of our strategy to help you prepare for an upcoming May 2021 Google update during which page experience signals will become a part of Google's search ranking algorithm.

How does it work? To access the SEO audit tool and scan a new website or rescan an existing website:

What is it? Combine the power of the HubSpot workflows tool with your favorite apps to help you automate business processes across tools and systems in one place. You can now trigger actions in apps from HubSpot workflows such as adding a card to Trello or adding a row to a Google Sheet.

How does it work? From the HubSpot workflow tool, add an action, then select “Connect an app.” Scroll or search for an app, select it, then hit “Connect.”

Use Slack Connect with HubSpot Slack Integration

HubSpot Package: Starter/Pro/Enterprise
Date: April 2021

What is it? Slack Connect allows multiple different companies to work together in the same Slack environment. Now, with Slack Connect, both you and your external contacts will be able to contribute to your Slack workspace and access all of Slack’s collaborative benefits. Slack Connect gives you the ability to:

Securely connect to external organisations: share a channel with up to 20 organisations to send messages, files and collaborate; Work more quickly alongside partners: directly message anyone inside / outside your organisation in real-time; Build stronger and more valuable relationships

How does it work? You can use Slack Connect / Shared Channel in HubSpot’s Slack integration exactly the same as you do today for any Slack channels that are not shared with external organisations.

All actions and slash commands will work the same way in Slack Connect channels as they do in regular Slack channels.

Note that when you ''post to channel', everyone in the channel will see what you post. Comments and links (unfurled) posted to the channel will be visible to all parties in the channel.

Additionally, external users in a shared channel cannot interact with the integration - HubSpot needs to be installed in the other workspace to interact with your own portal bot. This means that others in your shared channel will not be able to access data in HubSpot via the shared channel.

Deal Automation

HubSpot Package: Pro/Enterprise

What is it? Deal automation can help you keep your pipeline clean and updated so your reps have the clarity to understand which deals to prioritize to meet their goals, and managers have clear visibility into their pipeline.

Previously, this functionality was only available to Enterprise users.

Why does it matter? With deal automation, Pro+ Marketing, Sales, and Service users can now put lead nurturing and CRM property updates on autopilot. Customize your customer journey journey by triggering a workflow any time a deal stage changes or a prospect or customer visits a page or views a piece of content to move them to the next step in the process.

How does it work? Deal workflow types are now available and offered for anyone that has access to workflows and that's on a Pro plan or higher. You will now see a new workflow type called "Deal-based" when going through the normal steps of creating a workflow.

Note: Nothing in the UI has changed, this workflow type still exists and functions the same. This is just a scoping and packaging change. To select this workflow type, you will go through the following steps when creating a workflow:
