What Is a HubSpot Audit, and How Do I Conduct One?

HubSpot audits are a great way to optimimse the use of your portal for better, more effective operations.

The number of tools and features within HubSpot can feel overwhelming, especially if you are on a Professional or Enterprise package. Sometimes you’re unsure how a particular tool may work and how it can apply to your business; or other times it may be that there are so many assets and templates created that you just need to take a step back and assess whether your portal just needs a good clean. 

A HubSpot audit is a way of identifying any gaps in your usage, as well as when you just need a bit of a clean-up. This keeps your HubSpot portal nice and clean, updated and easy to use and navigate. 

Sometimes you may not even realise that your HubSpot portal has become messy, but ask yourself, are you finding it takes ages to find what you’re looking for? Are there thousands of contacts exceeding the package limit? Do you find it a pain to guess and search for a particular asset?

Maybe it’s time to take a look through your portal, and I mean each and every tool, to identify how well it’s being used, does everyone in the team understand how it can be used and whether there are unnecessary items that could be deleted. 

Here are a few questions to get you started on your first HubSpot audit:

  1. Do you have more contacts than your package allows? 
  2. Are there email and landing page templates that you don’t use anymore?
  3. Are there any workflows and lists that aren't in use anymore?
  4. Can any CTAs be deleted?
  5. Is your CRM cluttered and hard to navigate?

If you’re answering those questions with yes, it may be worth taking a closer look into what you can delete, change and optimise. However, you don’t have to do all of the work by yourself.
