A New Face, A New Chapter: Inside Sammy’s First Few Months at BBD Boom

Get to know the talented team who make up BBD Boom. First up, our ambitious apprentice Sammy spills the tea on her first two months at Boom, along with a few details about her personal life. So, grab a cuppa, get comfortable, and read on.

How did you first get into digital marketing and what in particular drew you to it?

I've always been fascinated by the power of digital marketing and social media to connect people and businesses all over the world. I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in this field, but wasn't quite sure where to start. That's when I decided to take some courses in digital marketing to learn more.

As I began to dive deeper into the world of digital marketing, I realised that it was the perfect fit for me. What drew me to it was the combination of creativity and strategy, as well as the ability to make a tangible impact on businesses and their customers. I love the challenge of finding new and innovative ways to reach audiences and engage with them in a meaningful way. It's been a fulfilling and exciting journey so far, and I'm looking forward to what the future holds in this constantly evolving industry. 

What does a ‘day in the life’ look like for you?

I currently work as a Client Success Executive, which involves a range of responsibilities related to managing our clients' needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services. My key responsibilities include client communication, which involves maintaining regular contact with clients to keep them informed of project progress, answer any questions or concerns they may have, and ensure that they are happy with the work we're doing.

In addition to client communication, I also handle task management, which involves overseeing the implementation of various projects and ensuring that they are completed on time. Finally, I also occasionally work on HubSpot implementations, which involves configuring and customising the platform to meet our clients' specific needs. This may include setting up workflows, creating email templates, and integrating various tools and technologies to streamline their marketing and sales processes.

What are some key highlights from your first few months at Boom?

My first few months at Boom have been filled with exciting highlights and opportunities for growth. One of the biggest highlights for me has been working with such a talented and supportive team. From day one, I was welcomed with open arms and given the resources and guidance I needed to succeed in my role. 

Another highlight has been the opportunity to learn about HubSpot, which is something completely different to what I've worked with before. As a digital marketer, I'm used to working with various tools and platforms, but HubSpot has really opened my eyes to a new way of managing marketing and sales processes. I've enjoyed the challenge of learning something new and am excited about the potential it has for helping our clients succeed.

What are some exciting projects you’ve been working on?

I've been spending a lot of time on paid media campaigns, which I find to be the most interesting. There's something really exciting about using data and analytics to optimise ad performance and drive results. I've been working closely with our marketing team to identify our target audience, refine our messaging, and develop creative campaigns that resonate with our customers. It's a challenging field that requires a lot of experimentation and iteration, but I find it incredibly rewarding when we see positive results.

What’s your favourite thing about Boom and why?

My favourite thing about BBD Boom is the variety of tasks and projects I get to work on every day. As someone who thrives on variety and enjoys a good challenge, I really appreciate the diverse range of projects and tasks that come my way. One day, I might be working on a social media campaign for a client, then the next day I could be helping with email marketing.

But beyond the exciting and varied work, what really sets BBD Boom apart is the incredible team of specialists that I get to collaborate with. Every day, I'm blown away by the expertise and talent of my colleagues, and their willingness to support and help one another. Whether I need guidance on a particular task or just want to bounce ideas off someone, I know that I can always count on my team to have my back.

What are your three biggest strengths?

I believe that my three biggest strengths are my positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow, my initiative and self-motivation, and my customer service and client relationship management skills. I approach each day with a can-do attitude, and I'm always eager to take on new challenges and learn new skills. Whether it's through formal training or on-the-job experience, I'm constantly seeking opportunities to grow and improve. I'm highly self-motivated and proactive, which allows me to take ownership of my work and consistently meet or exceed expectations. I have exceptional skills in customer service and client relationship management, which I have honed through years of experience in various roles.

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

When I'm not at work, you'll most likely find me at the gym or out for a walk. I enjoy staying active and find that it helps me to clear my mind and recharge for the day ahead. There's something about the physical challenge of working out that helps me to focus and stay grounded. Of course, I also enjoy spending time with friends and family and catching up on my favourite TV shows when I have some downtime. But overall, staying active and getting outdoors are some of my favourite ways to unwind and stay healthy.

What is something we’d never guess about you?

Something you might not guess about me is that I have had the ability to recite all of the elements of the periodic table from memory since the age of about 11. While it is extremely random and may not be the most practical talent, it's a fun party trick and it always surprises people when they find out.

What are you most looking forward to this year at Boom?

I am most looking forward to getting stuck into more paid media campaigns and organic social media at Boom this year. As a digital marketer, I find it fascinating to explore the latest trends and strategies in these fields and help our clients achieve their goals. I also look forward to continuing to grow my knowledge from the talented team around me. At Boom, there's always something new to learn, whether it's a new tool, a new technique, or a new way to approach a problem.
