We are absolutely thrilled to be able to say that our very own Emma Lynch has scooped the Business Mother of the Year Award at the Venus Awards!

Set up in 2009, the awards celebrate working women across 10 regions in the UK, and have been dubbed by Channel 4 as the ‘Working women’s Oscars’.

In a final with two other deserving nominees, the Bournemouth Collegiate School (BCS) Business Mother of the Year award was created to celebrate a woman who successfully juggles business and family life.

Emma deservedly made the final for 3 awards:
- Business Mother of the Year
- Small Business
- Employer

And although we think she deserved to win them all, it was the Business Mother of the Year award that meant the most.

As a mum of two young daughters, Emma said, “I am determined to teach my girls, through example, that you can do and be anything you want to be and not to give up on their dreams. My dream was to start my own agency and I have done it. Yes they may have to work hard, but if they really want it they should go for it and not give up even if the barriers seem impossible to break through.”

“I am truly humbled to have been nominated. I am honoured that someone has recognised what I work so hard to achieve. My biggest aim is to give my children a positive role model that shows them hard work pays off and you should strive to do your best in whatever you do and to always follow your dreams!”

Myself and the team are truly honoured to work alongside Emma and are extremely pleased that she has won a prestigious award that recognises her work ethic alongside her family life. She is an inspiration to many, and we hope that she can inspire future generations to follow their dreams.

To sum up why Emma is the deserved winner, she said, “Life is one big juggling act, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My family are my world and by running my own business it allows me to do the school runs, attend school events and be a mum I promised myself I would be.”
